Director: Crisis Management & Business Continuity

As a Director in Capital One's Crisis Management & Business Continuity team, you will apply your leadership and analytical skills to our Risk Management efforts. You will act as a thought leader working across the business to develop and implement cutting edge risk solutions to ensure Capital One's continued success. Directors have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with executives to create and implement innovative solutions to appropriately manage risks across the Enterprise.

The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated risk or process management professional with excellent process improvement and communication skills, complemented with experience in crisis management and business continuity. The candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development, maintenance, and execution of business continuity program management, incident and crisis management, and coordinating recovery activity from business interruptions. The position requires leadership experience driving enterprise programs, strategic thinking as well as job-specific skills related to risk management, incident management, and business continuity.

Responsibilities:
  • Sets strategic direction of the governance, execution, and maturation of the Business Continuity Program and Crisis Management Program
  • Establishes and maintains strategic relationships with key stakeholders and cross-functional partners to drive business strategies, create resilient business processes, determine impact on recovery strategies. Develops policies, standards, incident response playbooks and promotes risk management
  • Understands and applies internal policies, standards, procedures, laws and regulations, and industry best practices with respect to business continuity and incidents and crises response
  • Drives business continuity plan development and reviews to include Business Impact Analysis, Plan Maintenance, and Training and Exercise Execution. Continuously evaluate business process plans, key technology and vendor dependencies, and recovery strategies to ensure resiliency
  • Leads incident response coordination to promptly and effectively identify and recover capabilities when disruptions occur to business activities. Develop complex scenarios and execute tabletop exercises and working sessions to develop corporate capabilities to respond to incidents expeditiously
  • Serves as an advisor to the lines of business on business continuity planning and incident and crisis response
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assure integration and compatibility of common response, priorities, and planning efforts
  • Provide leadership and direction to continuity and recovery teams during a crisis


Basic Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 10 years of Risk Management, Business Continuity Management, or Incident Responseexperience
  • At least 10 years of People Management experience
  • At least 10 years of Process Management or System's Securityexperience
  • At least 10 years of experience leading Corporate Strategic Initiatives


Preferred Qualifications :
  • Master's Degree
  • Knowledge of technology processes in a cloud environment including emerging technologies
  • Proven experience in leading strategic initiatives across large groups
  • Exceptional analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills, sound independent judgment and meticulous attention to detail
  • Highly effective in rapidly changing environments
  • Experience in a regulated environment
