UX/UI Designer - Small Business Card

The Small Business Card Design team at Capital One is a diverse group of designers charged with enabling small businesses to thrive through human-centered design. We're looking for a Product Designer to help reshape how small businesses interact with their money, their employees, and their financial world. This is an awesome opportunity to influence how millions of small business owners use Capital One Spark cards to run their businesses.

Your Skills
  • Ability to articulate and present the process and logic behind design decisions
  • Participating in and contributing to design workshops with internal and external stakeholders
  • Crafting and conducting user testing, then synthesizing results to drive design decisions
  • Ability to gain a deep understanding of target users, with frequent research and interactions to fuel knowledge
  • Developing journey maps, service blueprints and user flows
  • Experienced with design software such as Sketch and Figma
  • Fluent in designing for responsive web and mobile with an eye for patterns, typography, colors and interaction design best practices
  • Comfortable weaving together components and patterns of existing libraries to design and create high-fidelity prototypes
  • Able to go from sketching to wireframing to high-fidelity prototyping with ease
  • Experience specking designs before handing off to developers, to explain functionality, interaction, and edge cases
  • You consider how your design choices scale to the content and fit within larger design systems and patterns
  • Experience working within established brand guidelines and design style guides

Your Design Portfolio
  • Highlights both your UX and your UI work: show us that you've done a lot of the above!
  • Reflects understanding of interaction patterns and experience with responsive design frameworks across web and mobile platforms
  • Showcases end-to-end work on digital product design projects - show your process from discovery to delivery


Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience with UX and UI digital product design


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience

    4+ years of experience with UI design
  • 2 years of experience usability testing
  • 2 years of experience working with analytics to measure UX
