Senior Product Manager - Business Payments (Commercial Card)

Product Management at Capital One is a booming, vibrant craft that requires reimagining the status quo, finding value creation opportunities, and driving innovative and sustainable customer experiences through technology. We're looking for an experienced Product Manager to drive prioritization and guide design and development teams building software products for our Commercial bank. Product Managers play a critical role in achieving our strategy. They lead teams of designers, engineers, data scientists and analysts to define product strategy and develop, launch, and enhance products and services that drive our business forward.

As a Senior Manager of Product Management in Commercial Card, you'll play a crucial part in our endeavor to disrupt B2B Payments by creating a market leading platform to connect buyers with sellers (merchants), and drive the adoption of Capital One Commercial Card and other products. The focus of this role will be to leverage technology, data and partnerships to create a wide network of sellers, and a compelling experience/value proposition for card acceptance.

What will you do?
  • Define strategy, vision, roadmap and success metrics for products and be accountable for the full product lifecycle.
  • Bring solutions to market through ownership of the full product development process: problem identification, solution design, spec, implementation, validation and measurement.
  • Manage multiple projects and challenging priorities with consistency and transparency, while successfully knowing which projects and components of the roadmap to tackle first.
  • Mentor, and potentially manage a team of PMs.
  • Work in a hands-on, collaborative environment with top designers and engineers to conceptualize, design, and deliver breakthrough experiences and products that solve our users' most critical needs.
  • Define research needs and lead qualitative and quantitative research to inform key business initiatives, guiding team members in that work when relevant.
  • Regularly present and communicate findings to senior leadership in a clear and compelling way. Lead discussions that help inform decision-making across the business
  • Drive documentation, launches, GTM plan, positioning and messaging for the product
  • Work with product managers, designers and business stakeholders to develop a strategic point of view of the needs of our customers and business to support planning of features
  • Build empathy with the people around you and put the same care into growing and supporting your team as you do into your product
  • Develop analytical frameworks to proactively or reactively solve business problems, create insights, perform detailed analyses, design and measure experiments, develop customer/product segmentations, forecast key KPIs, and utilize models for various business objectives.
  • Apply cutting edge technology like automation, machine learning and artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to reimagine the way Capital One manages risk

  • A bias to action and a proven track record of shipping successful products to market which exceed user expectations
  • Knowledge and passion for emerging technologies and how they are used to empower developers and businesses to deliver great products.
  • Grounding in human-centered design with a natural empathy for users
  • Strategic thinking and an ability to effectively identify opportunities for growth in new businesses and markets
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity and comfort with ambiguity
  • Structured communication & storytelling skills with all audiences
  • Significant experience applying analytical rigor to support technology decisions

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in digital product management

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or Masters Degree
  • 5+ years of experience leading agile teams to launch digital products in B2B or consumer payments space
  • 5+ years of experience translating business strategy and data analysis into digital products
  • Knowledge about merchant acquiring landscape and acceptance technologies
  • Experience leading digital product teams
