This role, within Commercial Loan and Capital Markets Operations, will be on the Strategy, Data & Analytics team, and require engaging with our Operations teams to deliver value added capabilities to core systems across the business.

As a Manager of critical systems within Operations, you will be responsible for creating a team of super users and driving all strategic and tactical changes from critical fixes, key enhancements, audit remediation and pain-points. Critical success factors include knowledge of lending products, key systems (e.g. ACBS, DataScan, LaserPro, GTSNet, Wallstreet System, Murex, CXL, PIE ) and the ability to build partnerships with Ops, Product, Tech and vendors. You will need to champion a value stream approach to problem solving and execute processes that improve business efficiency, risk management, as well as client and associate experience. You will also be responsible for providing overall strategic direction as well as day to day project supervision, delivering progress updates via streamlined communication across Ops leadership and key stakeholders.

We are seeking dedicated, disciplined, process professionals who excel in a team environment and are experts in process improvement and systems change management. This individual must be able to effectively communicate and influence partners across the company and across multiple levels of the organization. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic agile environment are essential to succeeding in this role.

General Responsibilities:
  • Work with Operations leaders to develop a strategy for system migrations, integrations and automations to enable digital transformation, productivity, cost optimization and data transparency
  • Drive decision-making across leadership and stakeholders, advising on infrastructure capabilities
  • Work with Product and Tech to create a roadmap for combining subsystems into cohesive units that better support business objectives
  • Implement Agile methodologies to gather, assess and prioritize information technology (IT) and business system requirements for upgrade needs and integration possibilities, and design and resource delivery plans or solutions
  • Manage system testing end-to-end, including reading vendor release notes, writing test scripts, and setting up the environment for user acceptance testing (UAT), and resolving defects with the software developer
  • Manage production issues as dedicated hands-on support for key tools
  • Manage vendor contracts to optimize pricing, sourcing, and service level agreements, including determining prioritization for vendor development teams
  • Deliver ad hoc training to develop a set of super users in Operations that can deliver on further improvements and act as an extended team
  • Design and produce metrics to assess business continuity solutions delivered


Work at Home Technology Requirements:
  • A secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions
  • A reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use cellular data (hot spot)
    • Cable or fiber connections are preferred
    • Internet service download speeds must be at least 5 mbps, with 10+ mbps preferred - check your download speed using a speed test. A sample one can be found here .     • Sustained ability to maintain latency less than 250 ms in voice calls is required
  • Hard wired connectivity is preferred, any use of wireless connectivity must be Private (non-public) and password protected through WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption. If you have any questions about your encryption, please consult with your internet provider
    • A private network is password protected where you have ownership or line of sight to every device on the network
  • Capital One reserves the right to request proof of internet provider, speed and service package from the associate
  • Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. Capital One reserves the right to modify internet service requirements with sixty (60) days notice.


Candidates must live within 100 miles driving distance of one of the hub locations

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in Process management
  • At least 2 years of experience in Agile Project management
  • At least 2 years of experience in People management


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or computer engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in an IT-related role, preferably with leadership responsibilities
  • At least 1 year experience with integrating technologies and all testing phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • At least 1 year experience with SQL, Azure, and cloud-based web services
  • At least 5 years of experience in complex problem solving
  • At least 5 years of experience in Process management
  • At least 5 years of experience in Agile Project management
  • At least 5 years of experience managing configuration changes in ACBS v8.0, particularly for the LIBOR to SOFR transition (RFR enhancements)
  • At least 3 years of experience working with systems used for commercial lending and servicing and capital markets, such as ACBS, DataScan, LaserPro, GTSNet, Wallstreet System, Murex, CXL, PIE, COMET
