As a Program Specialist, GS-0301-13, you will be responsible for:

Coordinating, administering, researching, and managing functions and operations of the Executive Office to include the following:
  • Processing Information Technology and Human Resources related actions to include submitting actions, tracking the status until completion, and providing status updates;
  • Arranging travel, purchasing items, processing time cards, tracking controlled correspondence and clearance documents and onboarding employees;
  • Reviewing and screening incoming and outgoing correspondence regarding major policy or matters of immediate concern assuring the responses reflect the approach, style and views of the office; Coordinating the clearance process;
  • Tracking responsive documents back and forth between the author and principal offices until the document has been given final approval;
  • Drafting substantive responses to controlled correspondence for the supervisor's signature;
  • Researching complicated issues to ensure that responses are factually accurate and adhere to Office of Planning, Evaluation and Policy Development (OPEPD) views and policies.


Conditions of Employment

  • Relocation will not be paid.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

You may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-13, if you possess the specialize experience.

Specialized Experience for the GS-13

One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-12 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:

1. Experience managing a wide range of operating function to include Information Technology and Human Resources related services.
2. Experience coordinating actionable items such as submitting actions, tracking status, distributing documents, and providing status updates to staff and leadership.
3. Experience managing travel, purchase card and time sheet functions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). You do not need to provide separate narrative responses to these KSAs, as they will be measured by your responses to the occupational questionnaire (you may preview the occupational questionnaire by clicking the link at the end of the Evaluations section of this vacancy announcement).

1. Skills processing and tracking actions. 2. Skills planning, scheduling, and conducting projects to evaluate and recommend ways to improve work operations across offices, divisions, and departments.
3. Knowledge of pertinent laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the program.
4. Knowledge of the major issues, program goals, and objectives, work processes, and administrative operations of the organization.


This position does not have an education requirement.
