**Overview: Aston Carter has an immediate opening for a Financial Analyst at the global headquarters in Hanover, MD. General Description:**The Financial Analyst is responsible for the preparation and validation of financial reports produced by the department. They also respond to inquiries and provide income statement analysis to Directors of Financial Operations and Controllers, which help to guide respective field offices in understanding and managing their profitability and financial performance. A qualified candidate must demonstrate initiative, flexibility, innovation, urgency, and ability to work in a diverse setting.**Essential Functions and Responsibilities:**+ Produce weekly headcount reports to the front office+ Produce monthly reporting which include company, regional, office and director views+ Provide variance explanation between budget, actual, year over year, and trending performance+ Perform month-end closing duties, conduct monthly income statement analysis and prepare journal entries when needed during the monthly close process+ Assist stakeholders in understanding and utilizing reports produced by the department+ Produce ad hoc requests and/or reports and provide analysis as needed+ Investigate ways to improve current reporting processes utilizing additional functionality of PeopleSoft queries and the Hyperion application.**Requirements: Required Education and/or Experience** :+ BS in Accounting or Finance+ 3-5 years of Accounting or Finance related experience+ PeopleSoft and nVision experience preferred+ Financial analysis experience a plus+ Hyperion Planning, Essbase, SmartView, and EPM (EDMCS, EPBCS, FCCS) experience plus**Requisite Abilities and/or Skills** :+ Strong analytical ability with a focus on detail+ Ability to manage multiple tasks, working independently as well as on a team+ Professional oral and written communication skills+ Capacity to view the company, and our internal process, at a detailed level+ Capable of interacting with all levels of the organization in a professional manner
