Within JP Morgan's Private Bank, the Alternative Investments Group ("AIG") is a global collaborative cross functional team of experienced professionals including Investment Specialists, Investor Relations, Due Diligence, Structuring and Middle Office support colleagues based in New York, Delaware, Hong Kong, London, Edinburgh, Geneva, Singapore, and India. The AIG is responsible for the selection and monitoring of a diverse array of attractive alternative investment opportunities for Global Wealth Management clients. With over $115 billion of client capital invested across hedge funds, private equity, private credit funds and real estate opportunities, the AIG team brings a unique perspective to sourcing and offering alternative investment opportunities to JP Morgan's private banking and wealth management clients. The AIG team uses a \"best-of-breed\" approach to source opportunities across its broad platform. A disciplined selection process enables the group to offer wealth management clients top quality investment opportunities from both within the firm and from outside of the firm through third-party managers. Close attention is paid to tax issues relevant to both US and non-U.S. investors, and where possible the team seeks to leverage JP Morgan's expertise in generational planning in an effort to create tax-efficient investment vehicles for wealth management clients globally. The Alternative Investments Middle Office supports JPMorgan's Private Bank Investor community by globally servicing the Private Bank's suite of alternative investments (private equity funds, hedge funds, and real estate funds). The team liaises directly with our internal AIG counterparts, as well as a wide variety of external hedge/private equity funds and their administrators. The successful candidate/s will be required to quickly learn, understand and support as needed, the functions and services provided by the Alternatives Middle Office team. Responsibilities: Working closely with Investment Advisors and Bankers in the US, on new product launches and ongoing alternative investment opportunities. Review, identify and communicate any non-standard structural and operational issues to global Structuring team prior to launch of investment. Educate and advise AIG Investment Specialist Team on each transaction to ensure that they are equipped to answer questions from regional teams regarding the investment opportunity. Participate in strategic decisions related to the alternatives pipeline and all aspects of a fund offering, including: overseeing production of marketing and closing documents, legal documentation, and ensuring successful fund closings. (variation on a theme) Conduct operational due diligence to confirm structure-specific terms, underscore non-standard provisions, highlight disclosure concerns or identify distribution hurdles/ risks. Provide input and new ideas to contribute to the development and enhancement of the group's business strategy. Become a specialist in all aspects of our alternative investments platform including Hedge Fund subscriptions, redemptions, and transfers, Private Equity commitments and capital activity, document review, reconciliation oversight, and Client Reporting and Fulfillment Document procedures and process flows, and ensure they are kept accurate Assist in developing and reviewing documented test plans, and coordination of UAT Assist in the development of training materials Provide support to the Investor community for JPMorgan's alternative investment products Manage relationships with hedge/private equity funds and fund administrators Support the processing of alternative investment tax documents Support the review of client documentation including Subscription, Commitment, and Transfer documents, Corporate Action responses, and Subscriber Information Forms Support the fulfillment of various client mailings including K-1s, Transaction notifications, and generic fund information Compile MIS data for senior management Contribute to various projects related to Middle Office, administration and operations Required: Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems and to manage multiple tasks at once Flexible team player with ability to work independently Strong interest in alternative investments preferred Verbal presentation skills Experience in workflow analysis and documentation Advanced Excel and Access skills Preferred: Operational and/or Client service experience Experience in Asset/Wealth Management Understanding of Private banking operations and /or JPMS operations Experience with Alternative Investments and/or Alternative Investments operations Experience interfacing with outside vendors (ie Custodians, Fund Companies/Administrators) Exposure to international offices and procedures JPMorgan Chase & Co., one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world's most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the JP Morgan and Chase brands.
