Assistant Project ManagerCity Light & Power (CLP) is a company at the forefront of the modern-day electric utility industry. We support the Federal Government in the area of military installations and their electrical distribution systems, as well as with local municipalities in the area of street lighting systems.Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MDSalary: Commensurate with experienceSummary/Objective:The Assistant Project Manager's responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. The Assistant PM will assist with overseeing all aspects of projects and monitor and summarize progress of project. The Assistant PM will be expected to assist in the preparation of reports for upper management regarding status of project.Duties and Responsibilities:* Coordinate project team personnel and resources* Enhance and maintain relationships with clients, designers, consultants, and contractors.* Compile reports regarding financial performance of the project* Attend and lead project meetings, including progress, pre-construction, and pre-award* Develop and maintain site logistics plans, in coordination with the project Superintendent* Prepare trade contracts and bid packages, as well as oversee procurement process* Oversee cost control and change management systems* Set-up QA/QC procedures and conduct quality inspections* Communicate and enforce corporate Safety and Health Management Program*Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience:* 3-5 years project management experience required (construction or utility experience preferred)* Experience with CLP may be substituted for project management experience* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred* Must possess experience in understanding blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to view time/cost/labor estimates for projects and service* Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office Product* Ability to prepare construction schedules in Microsoft Project* Must have excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communications skill* Must be a team player and able to work with various partners from start to finish* Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.* Ability to delegate work appropriately.Work Authorization/Security Clearance:* You must be a US Citizen* Military Base Security Clearance required* Valid driver's license required with a record that meets the CLP Fleet PolicyWe are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/Disabled/Veterans.
