We are looking to further develop our dynamic team in the corporate accounting department with the addition of a Staff Accountant in Hanover, MD. Responsibilities: This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will have the opportunity to:Improve the financial position of the company by analyzing results, monitoring variances, and identifying trends during the completion of monthly close activities. This includes but is not limited to posting monthly journal entries and performing balance sheet reconciliations, as well as assessing the appropriateness of the Company's accruals and other balance sheet accountsCalculate intercompany sales and AR eliminations Assist in identifying potential efficiencies and areas for process improvement to management, as well as participate in designing, executing, and documenting those improvements, including consideration of internal controlsAssist in researching and applying complex technical accounting issues and conceptsGain exposure to a multitude of state tax laws through the completion of sales and use tax returns and internal review of the related accrual accountsExecute internal audit functions and provide support for external audits Qualifications: Has earned a BS Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred, but not required1-3 years of experience in a corporate accounting role. Public accounting experience highly preferred, but not requiredSelf-motivated mentality and the ability to work independently with guidance and mentoring from manager when neededExcellent interpersonal skills, allowing one to communicate with colleagues of all levelsAbility to adapt and prioritize tasks in an ever-changing environment and successfully meet deadlinesStrong excel skills including experience with formulas (VLOOKUP) and pivot tables. Other data processing or visualization skills (ie PowerBI, Alteryx, etc.) are a plusAttention to detail and an understanding of the important role that accurate and reliable financial reporting plays in complying with International Financial Reporting Standards and informing business decisionsKeller is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
