Description Currently seeking a driven Payroll Specialist with a strong desire to grow their skills as a Payroll and HR professional! We are working on an exciting opportunity seeking a Payroll and HR Specialist to join a tight-knit HR department within a private US owned and globally operated company, specializing in freight shipping for both domestic and international trade and cargo. With 71 years in the industry, our clients are currently the world's second largest registry holding 13% of the world's oceangoing fleet. We are working with their HR department at their HQ location in Sterling, VA as they are currently seeking a driven and meticulous payroll and human resources professional to join their team! Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources (HR), this seat will be serving as the sole payroll processor and benefits administration for all US based employees (~100) and the acting right arm to the Director of HR related to all employee relations and data management. As this seat will be working closely with senior leadership, the ideal Payroll and HR professional we seek must have the autonomy to function with minimal supervision and maturity to ask for help when found in a difficult position.
