A Kforce client is seeking to hire a Network Operations Lead in Herndon, Virginia (VA).Responsibilities include: * Manage team of firewall and network engineers performing technical administrative and troubleshooting duties for Cisco and Dell switches, Palo Alto, Stonegate, Cisco, Azure, and Forcepoint firewalls, F5, and Broadcom Layer 7 network appliances * Engineer operational requirements for network performance and security monitoring * Network Operations Lead will work closely with senior network and systems engineers, building, maintaining complex networked appliances and systems * Manage all aspects of the patching process for all production and non-production environments * Lead efforts to automate network procedures using scripts in Ansible and Microfocus using Bash, Perl, or Python * Network Operations Lead will participate in internal workshops and provide presentations of the proposed solutions * Deliver technical documentation and user documentation as required * Use Scaled Agile Framework and ServiceNow to manage workflow and resource capacity * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; Master's degree preferred * Must have an active Cisco Certified Network Associate or higher certification * 10-12 years of network operations experience * 10 years of experience managing network operations centers * 3 years of experience in firewall engineering with preferred experience with Palo Alto firewalls * Understand all elements of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, configuration management, quality assurance, and release management * Provide technical leadership and technical guidance on projects, O, troubleshooting, and network analysis * Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information * Applicants must be fully authorized to work in the US without sponsorship Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
