Come be a part of our mission. Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) seeks to fill a Space Systems Linux Administrator supporting Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU). This position can be located either in Fairfax, VA or Aurora, CO. Candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills that achieve sustainable, top performance. They will have a consistent record as an effective communicator and problem-solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, they will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and will have the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. This candidate will demonstrate a broad skillset that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. There will be opportunity to operate in a team environment, as well as to collaborate across division business areas, as required, in order to accomplish team goals. Overview: Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software, and allocating mass storage space and creating S3 buckets within a specified cloud environment. Analyzes, enhances, installs, tests, and modifies enterprise-wide operating systems for both new and existing systems. Develops requirements, workflow, and systems analysis. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities. Establishes standards for development and maintenance of new and existing products. Basic Qualifications: For Principal Systems Software Analyst (Level 3)- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, with 5 years of related experience in systems administration; 3 years with a Master's degree; 0 years with a PhD; 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree For Sr. Principal Systems Software Analyst (Level 4)- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, with 9 years of related experience in systems administration; 7 years with a Master's degree; 4 years with a PhD; 13 years of related experience in lieu of a degree Active TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility, and active poly Experienced Linux System Administration for Red Hat/CentO Demonstrated understanding of and experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware within a virtualized environment. Good communication skills Experience working AWS or similar Cloud environment Experience working with all or some of the following: Skype, SQL, SCCM, backups using Veritas Backup Exec, patching using WSUS, scripting using PowerShell, and more. Background experience creating technical documentation how-to's and SOP Preferred Qualifications: Experience with satellite ground station hardware system administration Experience with NetApp storage solutions Experience with installing and configuring Docker containers Experience and understanding of AGILE/SCRUM methodology Knowledge of JIRA, S2P and Confluence Security vulnerability mitigation Salary Range: $96,900 USD - $152,200 USD Salary Range 2: $120,000 USD - $188,600 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
