Overview: Must be a US CitizenOngoing contract positionW2 with full benefitsCOVID19: Must be fully vaccinated and provide valid proof of a completed COVID19 vaccination prior to starting work, absent an approved accommodation for religious or medical reasons.Customer and contract specific training will be required and provided.Location: NASA Goddard, Greenbelt, MD Responsibilities: Seeking a skilled System Administrator (SA) to serve as a Flight Operations Team (FOT) member on the Roman Space Telescope (RST) Mission supporting the Mission Operations Center (MOC) and Ground System Engineer lead. The SA will primarily be responsible for providing administration support to all MOC systems including installation and configuration of systems and networks, software integration, system testing, troubleshooting, IT security standards compliance, and operational support. The SA will also be responsible for sustaining system operations, configuration management, operating system patching, application software installation and configuration, system backups, and troubleshooting and resolving system, application and network connectivity issues, and maintaining system compliance with NASA IT security policies and procedures. The customers supported in this position include NASA management, mission flight operations, and mission systems engineering. Position located at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD Responsibilities: Perform System Administration functions for a NASA Mission Operations Control CenterSustain system operations, configuration management, and operating system patchingApplication software installation and configurationPerform system backups, troubleshoot, and resolve system, application, network and connectivity issuesMaintain system compliance with NASA IT security policies and proceduresLinux system administration (Ubuntu/RHEL) knowledge including configuration management and system securityWindows system administration knowledge including Windows Active Directory, Windows GPO, and WSUSDeploy, configure, and manage VMWare vSphere server clusterManage iSCSI storage arraysSystem and network configuration and troubleshootingManage web application servers (Apache, NGINX, Tomcat, etc.)Manage and configure Internet protocols including TCP/IP, SSH, HTTP, and SSLSystem network configuration, including network authorization (LDAP, SSSD Active Directory, PAM) on Windows and Linux systemsManagement of versioning tools (SVN and Git)Perform system backups and restoration as needed via VEEAMMaintain software defined OS and application configurations through Ansible scriptsInvestigate complex anomalies by working with hardware and software vendors, FOT co-workers, and NASA engineers to determine corrective action and long-term solutionsProvide support to the NASA customer in the generation of technical reports and presentation packages as required supporting the mission operation readiness effort for the Mission Operations Review (MOR) and Flight Operations Readiness Review (FORR) Qualifications: Required Education, Experience, & Skills: BS Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field8 + years of experience as a System Administrator managing a virtualized multi- OS environmentProficient in the management and administration of the of the following systems and SA functions:RHEL / Ubuntu LinuxWindowsScripting and Automation skills through Linux shell scripting, PowerShell or other scripting languagesExperience with creating and modifying administration scripts on Linux (Bash, Python or Perl) and Windows (Powershell)IT Automation through Ansible or equivalentVMware vSphereServer and storage hardware management and maintenanceDatabase configuration and maintenanceFirewall Rule ManagementExperience with network setup, configuration, and troubleshooting Preferred Experience and SkillsSelf-starter, with limited direction, research, learn and integrate/implement systems and solutions to meet mission requirements.
