Zwicker is presently seeking a Legal Assistant to join our team in our office in Gaithersburg. Responsibilities: Analyze and process data, as assigned, to ensure that proper work flow is being adhered to pursuant to the expectations of both clients and Zwicker & AssociatesProvide and assist in high-level legal administrative and office management support to the Office Manager and attorneys on siteUtilize internal software to properly update and document the status of each account in the assigned inventoryPrepare documentation for attorney reviewFile (paper or e-file) pleadings with the various state specific court filing systemsAnswer incoming callsCommunicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside partiesComply with all applicable standard operating procedures set forth by the officeEnsure quality of work while maintaining quantity of workPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Strong organizational and time management skillsProficient computer skills including experience in Microsoft office suite specifically strong excel skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsGreat attention to detailProfessionalism and a winning attitude Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of rules of civil procedure, rules of evidence, and/or e-filing processPrevious administrative experience in a law firm or other financial or banking institutionDebt collection and/or litigation experience Physical Qualifications: Be able to lift 5 pounds or greaterBe able to sit 90% of the work day at all timesBe able to bend at the waist and be mobile when neededBe able to read and comprehend position specific documents and correspondenceBe able to communicate in a common language with/to individuals or groups verbally and/or in writingBe able to operate a computer, telephone, and/or equivalent devicesBe able to complete a minimum of a 40 hour flexible workweek schedule Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this position.
