Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer with a focus in RF/Electrical to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Linthicum, Maryland. Travel 50% of time. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Mission Assurance organization as part of the Supplier Quality East Coast Field Operations team. Roles and Responsibilities: Collaborate in a team environment, negotiate and integrate different viewpoints, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project results. Represent the company with credibility, confidence and professionalism. Plan and implement Quality Assurance actions for assigned RF/TR module suppliers which require compliance to Military and Space requirements. Perform Specification Compliance Reviews, First Article Inspections and Source inspections on electrical and electromechanical hardware including, RF/Microwave devices and assemblies and cables and connectors. Understands continuous process improvement (CI) and can effectively develop and execute CI initiatives and activities. Initiate Corrective Action Plans and work with suppliers, manufacturing and engineering personnel to identify root cause and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented. Compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for understanding and addressing supplier process issues and developing solutions. Perform process and product audits along with capacity assessments to ensure the supplier's processes are robust and capable. Effectively perform supplier surveillance activities designed to manage and improve supplier performance, productivity, and process validation. Apply technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts to analyze and audit our suppliers processes and capabilities. Work with the Category Management teams and division facing SPM teams to manage suppliers, ensure the suppliers are performing well and drive process improvements while ensuring their capacity and capability to deliver products on time is acceptable. Understands general contracting principles in a Department of Defense and commercial environment. Possesses the ability and skill to review and interpret regulatory requirements, specifically in the area of Mission Assurance and quality. Establish positive working relationships with suppliers. Develop and mentor new engineers. Lead Supplier performance management by analyzing performance data, and identifying opportunities for improvement Proactive reduction and prevention of supplied material defect occurrences and verification of supplied material defect claims Lead cross-functional teams in pursuit of performance improvements aligned to department and organizational goals Prevent/Minimize business impact from supplied material defects; supplier quality risk mitigation Submit, review, coach, accept supplier corrective actions requests Lead on-site supplier engagements, including performance reviews and Quality System audits Develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation This position may be filled at a Supplier Quality Engineer or Principal Quality Engineer level, depending on experience. Basic Qualifications for a Supplier Quality Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical discipline. 2+ years relevant experience in Quality, Manufacturing or Design Engineering, and/or 2+ years experience in Continuous Improvement. Demonstrated work experience with inspecting RF/Electrical systems. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required. Basic Qualifications for a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical discipline. 5+ years relevant experience in Quality, Manufacturing or Design Engineering, and/or 5+ years experience in Continuous Improvement. Demonstrated work experience with inspecting RF/Electrical systems. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications for both levels: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering Six Sigma or Lean certifications Knowledge of statistical process control, auditing to ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements Experience in IPC-610/J-STD-001, MIL-STD-883 and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing. ASQ Lead Auditor Certification Hold Active Secret Clearance MAQEA Salary Range: $71,500 USD - $107,300 USD Salary Range 2: $88,000 USD - $132,000 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
