Principal/Sr Principal Electronics Engineer Northrop Grumman Space Systems sector delivers a decisive advantage to its customers through software-defined, hardware-enabled solutions. The Electrical Design and Analysis (EDA) section in Linthicum, MD enables these hardware solutions by providing technical expertise in the areas of architecture development, design, verification, and test across a wide variety of electronic sensor products. This position will require the candidate to be 100% on site. EDA is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Electronics Engineer with experience and interest in analog/digital/mixed signals electronic test and verification. Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to: Troubleshooting hardware based on schematics and component design documents Troubleshooting mixed-signal assemblies utilizing various test equipment Supporting Low-Rate Space Production Supporting some systems level electrical test and performance analyses Leading testing and reporting activities Managing technician workload and priorities Developing test plans and managing its execution Maintaining and coordinating calibration of test equipment Interfacing with customer and providing support as needed Hands on integration and test support Collaborating with cross functional groups to achieve desired outcome (management, engineering, reliability, mission assurance and production personal) This position can be filled at the Principal level (level 3) or Sr. Principal (level 4) Basic Qualifications Principal Electronics Engineer: Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years' experience, Master's degree in STEM with 3 years' experience, Ph.D. degree in STEM with 0 years' experience Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, parts lists Troubleshoot hardware based on schematics and component design documents Utilize basic lab test equipment to troubleshoot mixed-signal assemblies Open to occasional shift support during Pre-Environmental testing (PET) and Thermal vacuum testing (TVAC) for system test Effective verbal and written communication Active TS clearance required with completed investigation within a year Basic Qualifications Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer: Bachelor's degree in STEM with 9 years' experience, Master's degree in STEM with 7 years' experience, Ph.D. degree in STEM with 4 years' experience Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, parts lists Troubleshoot hardware based on schematics and component design documents Utilize basic lab test equipment to troubleshoot mixed-signal assemblies Open to occasional shift support during Pre-Environmental testing (PET) and Thermal vacuum testing (TVAC) for system test Ability to manage technician workload and priorities Ability to develop test plans and manage its execution Effective verbal and written communication Active TS clearance required with completed investigation within a year Preferred Qualifications for both Principal and Sr Principal Electronics Engineer: Active TS/SCI Ability to assess and generate reports for electrical over stress analysis Test Coordination Experience with standard test equipment (STE) design or support Experience with environmental stress screening (ESS) Ability to troubleshoot Test bench issues from H/W and S/W documentation Experience with electro optical (EO) System/CCD Willing to support new design efforts to promote future EO system business Experience with Design & Test Requirement documents and Operational Test Specifications Salary Range: $96,900 USD - $145,300 USD Salary Range 2: $120,000 USD - $180,000 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
