Supervises all security contract managers and analysts. Provides oversight and is responsible for successful security operations, security training, security contract invoicing, and compliance with the county’s security contract. Acts as the Emergency Action Coordinator for the Government Center and manages, monitors, and reports on the County Security's Workplace Violence Program. Develops, conducts and/or coordinates workplace violence training programs for security staff and county employees. Performs crime prevention duties and serves as the primary security event coordinator. Serves on the county’s Threat Assessment Team, ensures policies, procedures, and protocols for security operations are up to date, documented, and appropriately aligned with laws, ordinances, and other relevant county policies. Serves as the primary liaison for county department staff below the level of deputy director. Works in the Fairfax County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during local emergency activations in multiple Incident Command System roles such as interacting with other county departments and providing assistance to ensure continuation of operations of county facilities as necessary and is considered essential personnel. Works u nder general supervision of the County Security Manager.
Note: The hourly hiring salary rate will not exceed the midpoint $46.2760 (commensurate with experience).

Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. - Independently designs, develops, and coordinates ongoing department programs and special projects;
- Performs a wide range of professional-level management work for more than one broad administrative function including complex analysis and diverse project management in a lead capacity;

- Extensive Experience in managing and providing oversight of large numbers of security officer or sworn law enforcement personnel.

- Substantive knowledge of security operations, protocols, and administration.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
