Overview

AM LLC is seeking (1) Developer, Senior (Ruby on Rails) to support our VA client. This resource will be working remotely from home but must be able to travel up to 4-5 times per year for Agile planning meetings after Covid restrictions have been lifted. US citizenship or Green Card is required due to Public Trust clearance requirements.

Summary

A Senior Developer must be able to create logical and functional software code in a variety of languages. Must have experience in understanding and articulating the benefits and risks associated with different coding languages in different functional environments. Must have experience reacting to problems and correcting the program as necessary.

Responsibilities

Rails Skill Set:
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails at least v5 (prefer v6) along with common libraries such as RSpec or Resque
  • Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances
  • Experience with server-side templating language like Liquid, Slim etc..
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies such as AngularJS, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3
  • Experience in MVC, Mocking, ORM and RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with development tools such as Bower, Bundler, Rake etc., and commonly used GEMS
  • Proficiency with code versioning tools include Git and bug tracking systems like JIRA
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration
  • Work and test with multiple browser versions (IE, Chrome, Firefox etc.)
  • Spring framework concepts, Spring boot
  • REST, SOAP web services
  • Authentication mechanisms (SAML, OAuth)
  • multi-threading (concurrency)
  • JMS, Schedulers, workflow engines
  • Hibernate, Oracle and Postgres databases
  • JMeter, unit, functional testing
  • Agile development experience

Qualifications

General Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline required
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • 8 years of additional, relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • An active Veterans Administration PIV card is a strong plus
  • J2EE experience desired
