AM LLC has an immediate opening for a full-time Immunization Services Quality Assurance Nurse to support public health, COVID-19 response, and immunization services programming throughout the state of Rhode Island. The Immunization Services Quality Assurance Nurse will provide quality assurance oversight for the COVID-19 and/or Vaccines for Children (VFC) vaccination programs, including tracking inventory, ensuring proper handling of vaccines, performing quality assurance activities, and serving as a liaison to assigned vaccine clinic sites. As an integral member of the Pandemic Response Unit team, a key part of this role includes maintaining stakeholder communications and relationships. The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility, attention-to-detail, planning, and problem solving skills. Prior experience working at a local or state health department will be beneficial in this role. This is a hybrid position with 20% remote work from a home office and 80% required onsite work in Providence, RI with the possibility of occasional travel throughout the state of Rhode Island.

This position is contingent upon being awarded the project.


  • Support vaccine administration, clinic execution, and transition activities for the Pandemic Response unit.
  • In collaboration with program and project leadership, track vaccine inventory and assure adequate supply of vaccine to meet the needs of the state.
  • Coordinate with RIDOH channel and cross-channel owners, providers and vaccine distributor
  • In collaboration with project leadership, Identify any risks / issues in clinic schedules / vaccine inventory and work to resolve
  • Coordinate with channel owners and providers to forecast capacity and demand changes
  • Identify, coordinate and provide oversight to mobile vaccination clinics.
  • Provide quality assurance oversight for assigned vaccine clinic sites at regular intervals.
  • Perform site visits to assigned vaccine clinic sites at regular intervals.
  • Assess tracking procedures for COVID-19 and/or VFC vaccine inventory for assigned vaccine clinic sites.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to ensure proper vaccine management, storage, handling, and administration.
  • Perform quality assessments and data collection according to local, state, and federal program requirements.
  • Liaises with local vaccine clinics, distribution locations, and local health departments to facilitate adherence to appropriate protocols.
  • Utilizes all databases (e.g., CDC Redcap, PEAR, State Immunization Information System or Registry) to ensure complete documentation.
  • Ensures documentation from site assessments are inputted into appropriate database within the established time frame per contractual obligations (e.g., 24 hours).
  • Share evidence-based practices, improvement strategies, and educational resources with vaccination provider sites.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to vaccine providers in storing and handling vaccines.
  • Responsible for scheduling clinic site assessments and communicating with project staff regarding scheduling.
  • Collaborates with project leadership, project staff, and client liaison.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

  • Active RN license in the state of Rhode Island.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Associate's Degree required.
  • 2 years' experience in a provider's office or community health practice setting.


  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Prior experience working at a local or state health department preferred.

  • User provided home high-speed internet connection. (Minimum 25Mbps)
  • Strong experience with Google Suite: Gmail, Chat, Meet, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
  • Experience using immunization information systems or registries and the ability to navigate clinic patient records, vaccine ordering history, etc.
  • Strong experience using a MacBook Air, and/or iPad with Mac OS 10.15 or newer


  • Frequent on-site provider office visits.
  • Must be willing to drive distances greater than 100 miles.
  • Occasional overnight travel.
