Overview

The successful candidate will have deep understanding of analytics, data technologies, and database design practices, have strong people-management skills, and extensive experience in the planning and implementation of corporate data management infrastructure using both internal resources and external vendors. This role is 100% remote.

This position is contingent upon being awarded the project.

Responsibilities

  • Co-manage a growing team of analysts and data professionals, supporting multiple public health projects simultaneously and in conjunction with corporate strategy and growth.
  • Design, implement and maintain pipelines for multiple stakeholder group data collection, management and storage. Provide solutions that are scalable, optimize data delivery, and are automated where possible.
  • Provide advice and expertise to internal and external stake-holders for data-related technical concerns and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Build required infrastructure for optimal data ETL, following best practices for cloud-based PHI and HIPAA-related data management and storage.
  • Develop quality controls and departmental standards to ensure the organization follows proper PHI and HIPAA data access and handling requirements.
  • Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality.
  • Provide advice on data related technical issues to internal and external stakeholders and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Manage, optimize, oversee and monitor the retrieval, ETL, storage and distribution of data, ensuring all processes are following the best practices for cloud-based PHI and HIPAA-related data management and safe-storage.

Qualifications

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (If Applicable) :
  • Manages a team of various data and analytics skill sets and contribution levels
  • Manages billing and invoicing for members of the team


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's degree highly preferred) in mathematics, statistics, computer science, management information systems or public health related field (e.g., epidemiology)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with public health data manipulation and analyses
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in managing diverse team of technical and non-technical professionals
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, Python, R, JavaScript/AppScripts preferred)
  • Experience in architecting, configuring and administering cloud-based data storage solutions and ecosystems (AWS, Snowflake, RDS)


PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong understanding of Data Security and Compliance for HIPAA and PHI data access and storage and the ability to communicate those requirements effectively
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to plan and manage numerous processes, people and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage project delivery
  • Strong time-management, English language communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills


TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • User provided home high-speed internet connection. (Minimum 25Mbps)
  • Experience using Google Workspace

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position requires the use of a computer screen for extensive periods of time.
  • This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) the majority of the time.
