Overview: Chiron Technology Services, Inc. currently has an Human Resources Generalist career opportunity in the Columbia, MD area. Position Summary The Human Resources Generalist provides professional human resources services in the areas of benefits administration, record keeping, compliance, employee relations, and goodwill. The Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Human Resources function and plays a critical role in communication, issue resolution and follow-through for all employees. The Generalist also provides administrative and operational support for the Corporate Office to include Finance, Training, Business Development, and Security. This is an onsite position. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages employee record keepingConducts onboarding new hires and processing terminationsManages the day-to-day benefits administration to include handling enrollments, coverage terminations, invoice review, and issue resolutionWorks with Executive team and benefits broker to execute and provide administrative support to the open enrollment processManages short-term and long-term disability claims, unemployment claims, and requests for Family Medical LeaveMaintains compliance and recordkeeping regarding EEO, VETS 4212, I-9, OFCCP, and other federal, state, and local employment lawsResponsible for writing and disseminating employee communications regarding benefits, company policies, compliance, and other company informationResearches and creates HR materials to include policy development or updates or writing job descriptionsAssists in planning and executing company goodwill efforts such as company events, recognition programs, and other employee support programsManages inventory for company swagServes as a resource on company policies and procedures; responds to employee inquiries and concerns; may conduct internal investigationsProvides additional administrative and operational support to Staffing and Recruitment, Training Department, and other operational departments for the company QualificationsKnowledge, Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related disciplineMinimum four (4) years of HR experience, with demonstrated knowledge of and experience in HR administrationPrior experience in government contracting preferredKnowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and legal compliance requirements for federal contractorsPrior experience with Affirmative Action Plans preferred Skills and AbilitiesProficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with online applicant management systemsAbility to operate standard office equipment such as computers, copiers, fax machines, telephone systems, etc.Professional oral and written communication skills and analytical skillsAbility to research and create policy documents, job descriptions, and other professional documentsProfessional demeanor, high level of integrity, and exceptional customer service skillsAbility to handle extremely sensitive and confidential information and situationsExcellent problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and attention to detailAbility to be self-starting and to work independentlyFlexibility to deal with change and ability to reevaluate and reprioritize as needed Security Clearance:Ability to secure a US government security clearance if needed Travel:May require some local travel and out-of-state travel We are an EEO/AA Employer.
