Our client is a wholly owned subsidiary of a global organization. The company has seen steady growth over the years and is a very profitable business. The incumbent Controller is retiring in by the end of the year and is looking to hire their replacement. This person will be personally trained and developed to take over the position over the next 6 months. This is a hands-on, full-cycle G/L role and is a 40 hours a week role throughout the month. They operate on state-of the-art ERPs and their accounting process is seamless. In this role, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, and leading a small accounting department. This role's duties will require leading with integrity and reliability and having the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. Key responsibilities- Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis- Reviews deliverables of self and accounting team to ensure that they meet client expectations- Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis- Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed- Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time- Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals- Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payrollInterested applicants should apply within or reach out to Ray Saiyed at Robert Half via Linked In and refer to JO#02000-0012194503. Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field a must - Previous experience in G/L accounting a must - Great attention to detail- Vow to meet business deadlines- Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller or Senior Accountant preferred- Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required- CPA or MBA preferred- Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment- Manufacturing experience will be a nice to have- Expertise in general ledger required- Demonstrated knowledge of preparing Financial Statements- Microsoft Excel experience is a must have- Experience with Intercompany Accounting preferred- Adeptness in month end closings highly desiredRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
