Release Manager / Engineer

NJVC is currently seeking a Release Manager/Engineer to direct and address the management and coordination of the product from development through production. The Release Manager will oversee the coordination, integration, and flow of development, testing, and deployment to support continuous delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Release Management: Create the release schedule, plan and manage all release activities and provide coordination and communication with all applicable stakeholders. Lead release readiness reviews, milestones, and the Go/No-Go activities; produce deployment documentation, implementation plans, and other documents as necessary.
  • Change Management: Be responsible for and implement change management processes and procedures; identify and communicate risks that could affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Metrics Management: Evaluate and organize metrics and trends for sprints, releases, hotfixes, resources, etc.
  • Communication: Provide formal presentation of release metrics and status. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders on release activities across multiple geographies.
  • Agile Coach: Support the R&D team to ensure effective outcomes for the organization by helping to guide teams through the implementation process and encouraging workers and leaders to embrace the agile method.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
  • A Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Five years of release and/or project management experience in an IT environment similar in size and scope to the DEA TC organization.
  • Possesses an active Project Management Professional certification (provide certification number) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) or comparable project/program management certification (provide proof of certification).
  • Experience providing detailed engineering and technical leadership to engineering staff involving multiple, complex, and interrelated project tasks.
  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle.
  • Recognized Agile (i.e., SAFe, SCRUM, Kanban, extreme programming (XP), lean, Scrumban, etc.) certified professional.
  • Possess a current Secret clearance.
