Catalog and Curriculum Specialist The George Mason University Office of the Registrar invites applications for a Catalog and Curriculum Specialist. Responsibilities:The incumbent's main duties include, but are not limited to: Curriculum Management Assist with monitoring the curriculum approval process. Maintain all error checking in CIM and resolve errors as found. Process all course inventory requests as needed either manually or using the Banner Bridge. Run regular data quality reports and conduct data clean-up as needed. Assist with training end users on various curriculum software, specifically regarding the creation/submission/modification of curriculum proposals. Respond to emails and requests regarding curriculum. Create and maintain curriculum training materials and documentation, including but not limited to document-based manuals, presentations, training videos, and web pages. Assist with academic coding as assigned by supervisor. Review curriculum proposals and communicate potential issues to academic units, troubleshoot. Communicate with units regarding stalled proposals and errors. Review catalog content for designated colleges and apply editorial experience as needed. Perform these curriculum responsibilities in a timely manner, communicate with constituents clearly and professionally, and operate with little supervision once fully trained.Catalog Review and Publication Assist with the annual catalog review and publication process. Assist users with University Catalog questions and concerns regarding the publication process and/or their edits. Maintain knowledge of complex policies, degree requirements, page structure, and standard formatting for the GMU catalog publication. Adhere to established deadlines and assist the Assistant Registrar throughout the review, publication, and post-publication steps. This staff member is expected to take a lead role in the catalog page review and data quality review prior to the annual publication, which will require careful attention to detail and organization. Perform all catalog-related tasks with professionalism and efficiency.Testing and Data Quality Management Testing for updates and troubleshooting Course Leaf applications. Assist with testing for the degree audit platform and banner updates. Conduct required testing related to any and all updates or software patches in a timely manner and with appropriate documentation. Cross-Functional Support for Degree Audit Platform and Processes Provide support for the Degree Audit platform, supporting the annual catalog year update process, processing simple transactions for the Degree Audit team, and assisting with other Degree Audit duties as assigned. Performance Expectations: Maintain knowledge of the complex degree requirements at the university as well as academic policies. Maintain a working knowledge of the Degree Audit platform. Required Qualifications:Demonstrated, effective oral and written communication skills;Demonstrated ability to employ logic to solve problems;Demonstrated ability to process large volumes of work, while maintaining a high level of accuracy; andDetail-oriented.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with the Ellucian Banner student information system;Experience with academic programs and their requirements;Experience with degree evaluation and/or student information system software; andAbility to work effectively in a dynamic environment with multiple, simultaneous priorities.
