Dewberry Engineers Inc . is seeking a Team Lead for the Computational Science and Informatics (CSI) Team within the Resilience Solutions Group. CSI is a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team of earth scientists working to advance the state of the art of computational tools, technology, and resources available for resilience studies and applications. The teams focus areas include providing technical leadership and expertise in computational science, data/software/geospatial engineering, automation processes, cloud computing, and web development for resiliency tools and studies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a multi-disciplinary team of 5 -10 professionals with broad backgrounds and advanced technical skills
  • Perform, review, manage, and oversee a variety technical and computational tasks
  • Assist in interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching staff
  • Oversee the skill development and career advancement of staff
  • Serve as a technical liaison and ambassador internally and externally
  • Monitor progress against project scope, schedule, budget, and quality; allocate resources as required to meet milestones
  • Work closely with the Digital Solutions and Technology Program manager
  • Develop innovative and technical solutions for successful delivery of engineering projects
  • Ensure quality standards are in place, implemented, and maintained
  • Contribute to business development, proposal writing and growing the coastal and riverine engineering practice


Required Skills & Required Experience

Required Skills:
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Earth Science or Engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience in science, engineering, or technology
  • Demonstrated experience with open-source geospatial data, analytics, and software applications
  • Experience in multiple software engineering languages and frameworks
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and engineering
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience and understanding of Agile methodologies and tools
  • Experience mentoring junior and senior staff

Desired Skills:
  • Proficiency in cloud computing with a preference for AWS and Azure
  • Demonstrated mastery of version control systems and processes
  • Experience with IT networking and system administration
  • Experience with RESTful API's and documentation
  • Strong knowledge of hydrology and flood hazards analysis and processes
  • Experience with Flood modeling software and approaches
  • Experience in business development and proposal writing

Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
