Summary of Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Chancery/OR Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for the below listed duties at the Official Residence and/or Mission.
- Plans, oversees, and provides regular and official housekeeping and hospitality services. This includes welcoming guests, setting the premises according to standards and serving food and beverages at the Official Residence. Clean and maintain the private areas of the Official Residence including lavatories, hallways, stairs, entrances, bedrooms and working areas. This includes cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, waxing, polishing and/or ironing, when required, furniture, walls, floors, carpets, baseboards, equipment, desks, doors, door knobs, window sills, silverware and official linens; replenishing dispensers; and watering and maintaining plants. Assist with hospitality and event duties as well as with cleaning duties before and after official events, receptions, and meetings including setting tables, general preparation, cleaning and putting away dishes, cleaning premises and washrooms, etc. Assists with preparation of meals Perform small maintenance tasks such a replacing light bulbs and garbage management. Provide feedback on the use of cleaning products and informs supervisor when items need to be replaced or deeper cleaning is required and should be scheduled. Maintain an inventory of the cleaning supplies and ensures that replenishment of these supplies is carried out on a timely basis by informing the supervisor. Ensures that all doors, windows and shutters are closed and locked when off duty, especially during the absence of occupants, and/or at the end of official events. Performs other duties in cooperation with mission’s cleaning team on an as needed basis.
Area of Selection:
Open to internal and external applicants who are residents of the United States having independent work authorization and status in accordance with U.S. protocol directives for employment in a foreign mission (US Citizens, Legal Permanent Residents or A, G or NATO-2 category visa-holders) who meet all of the essential requirements stated below and whose applications are received by the closing date. Please note that the mission will not reimburse relocation costs under any circumstance and that the mission does not sponsor work authorizations directly or indirectly.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, language* and experience.

Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of recent (within last 5 years) work experience in housekeeping.
RATED REQUIREMENTS
The Rated Requirements are part of the essential qualifications and are relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies. Methods of assessment for rated requirements may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview (online pre-recorded/live or in-person), role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications.
- Experience working for a diplomatic mission.
Operational Requirements:
- Hours of work: Normal hours of work for this position are in accordance with Locally-Engaged Staff regulations of 40 hours per week. Your actual hours of work and lunch periods are dependent on the type of position you hold and field of activity in which you are involved. You and your supervisor will determine your precise working hours in advance (most likely 7:30 to 4:30 with an unpaid 60 minutes lunch break). The successful candidate must be willing to work paid overtime on occasion and when required.
Conditions of Employment:
Conditions of employment must be met or complied with before being appointed to a particular position, and are to be maintained throughout the employment while being the incumbent of this position.
- Valid work authorization: Ability to obtain and hold a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period.
- Security screening: Obtain and maintain a Reliability Status (security level) which includes a criminal and credit background check from the Government of Canada covering the entire employment period.
- Other conditions of employment: Must have Independent work authorization in the United States and status in accordance with United States protocol directives for foreign missions. In this respect, applicants must confirm independent work authorization in the United States (e.g. US Citizen, U.S Legal Permanent Resident (LPR), or specific visa categories (e.g. dependents of Diplomatic and Official Visas holders)) as required by the Department of State for employment in a foreign mission.
