Job Summary
Aptive is seeking a junior biostatistician with demonstrated quantitative and statistical experience. In this role for the VA Office of Research and Development (ORD), the junior biostatistician will evaluate customer data sets, identify trends, quantify results, and interpret findings that can be used to recommend changes in investments, processes or engagements that improve future outcomes.
This junior-level, full-time position is 100% remote. There are multiple contingent hire positions available.

Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in statistical analysis of complex data sets to support VA research studies utilizing recognized methods and software.
- Perform tasks related to applying biostatistical theories, techniques, and methods to gather, analyze, interpret, and/or report quantified information.
- Contribute to decision-making on study design and data collection, ensuring alignment with study objectives.
- Develop simple graphs and charts to explain how the mathematical information will influence the specific project based on research, collection, and analysis of data.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years of related biostatistical experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics or a related field of study.
- Ability to apply biostatistical theories, techniques, and methods to gather, analyze, interpret, and report quantified information.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Veteran Affairs data (i.e., Corporate Data Warehouse).
- Experience using Java, R, Python, Tableau, SPSS, SQL or Salesforce for data analysis and business intelligence reporting.
- Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize and work well with others.
- Self-starter with the ability to effectively navigate complex and ambiguous efforts.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
