Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Project Managerwith research experience to deliverhigh-quality project management to the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Research and Development.

This position requires strong client interaction skills and a demonstrated ability to work with various stakeholders across multiple tasks. Experience leading and managing projects in alignment with client goals, while managing resources and mitigating risks, is required for this position.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, systematic, and proactive in managing quality and exceeding client expectations within a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with appropriate stakeholders to define the individual project scope, timeline, risks, staffing needs, budget, and deliverables.
  • Work with ORD and field research teams to analyze, document, and propose standardized processes to streamline and simplify research administration.
  • Produce assessments, reports, and artifacts to deliver comprehensive program and administrative support services.
  • Deliver high-quality work products using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Managemultiple tasks and execute them in a quick-turn environment.
  • Rapidly prioritize competing requirements.
  • Understand and simplifyclientrequirements.
  • Interact and engage with Executive-level stakeholders.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of relevant project management experience. Project management in a research/clinical setting preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience supporting large Cabinet-level federal agencies, ideally theDepartment of Veterans Affairs.
  • Experience with oversight of compliance with Federal requirements for the protection of human research subjects, laboratory animal welfare, research safety, research laboratory security, research information security, and research misconduct.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trustclearance.
  • Legal authorizationto work in the U.S.

  • Experience working with federal government entities related to Veteran populations.
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
