Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a full-time Senior Project Manager to support the VA's governance objectives. The Senior Project Manager will provide management of the contract team, including overseeing an integrated team of communications experts, analysts, and writers; overseeing a robust project plan and deployment of tactics; and allocating resources.

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for developing and routinely updating a workload management tool as well as templates and tracking reports to keep the government informed of timelines and milestones across project workstreams. He or she will coordinate the development of inputs into a project schedule, scope and estimate projects, execute a project plan, and monitor performance to ensure project tasks are completed on-time, on-budget, and within scope. Previous experience managing a large-scale project in a consulting environment, especially working with Service members, Veterans or Service member/Veteran-focused federal agencies, is preferred. Experience in governance program implementation is required.

This senior-level, full-time position is located on the client site in Washington, DC. This position may also be remote.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee core team delivering support to OEI; ensure quality and timeliness of contracted deliverables; manage all aspects of contract execution.
  • Serve as the primary client point of contact, responding to requests for support and providing guidance on contract line, scope, and budget.
  • Provide strategic guidance and consulting for OEI strategic plans, communications, administrative support, and other efforts.
  • Create and monitor a workload management tool, task the project team with items, and monitor the quality of deliverables.
  • Assist in driving and maintaining project planning timelines and milestones for OEI lines of efforts, strategic plans, strategic initiatives, and business operation plans.
  • Provide oversight for status reports to leadership in OEI


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in governance program implementation.
  • PMP certified
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with Government projects
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with VA projects; some of which should preferably be with OIE
  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading large-scale projects
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.


Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in governance program implementation
  • PMP certified
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with Government projects
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with VA projects; some of which should preferably be with OEI
  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading large-scale projects.
