Job Summary

Aptive is seeking an experienced Financial Manager for a potential contract supporting the National Science Foundation (NSF) for the Networking and Information Technology Research and Development (NITRD) Program. The Financial Manager will lead and manage the financial management support team.

This is a mid-level, full-time position onsite in Washington, DC.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the liaison to the financial staff at NCO and the NITRD contacts at the Office of Management and Budget.
  • Prepare quarterly income and expense reports for review by the NCO Director.
  • Delegate support management of the NCO's budget and financial operations, and to identify requirements for purchases under the contract.
  • Manage the financial records, and present monthly financial reports to the Program Manager and COR.
  • Demonstrate financial accountability and controls and prepare and present financial reports on a quarterly basis or as requested.
  • Serve as liaison to the NSF on matters relating to financial services, travel, and personnel security.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Financial Processes and Procedures (internal controls).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management or related field.
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation including fingerprinting.
  • 5+ years of applicable Federal financial management or accounting, FIAR, or Financial Statement auditing experience.
  • Demonstrate strong management and leadership skills;
  • Experience working within a Federal government environment.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively in a small team environment
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to obtain a government security clearance, which typically requires US Citizenship.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management or related field.
  • CPA, CDFM, CGFM certification.
