Appian is actively seeking an Industry Marketer to help drive marketing strategy and execution for our Financial Services industry. This individual will partner with our Director of Financial Services Marketing and a team of Financial Services subject matter experts to define a compelling and differentiated story that answers the question "Why Appian, Why Now?" for Financial Services and its sub-verticals (Banking, Capital Markets, and Private Equity); create supporting content to help drive awareness and demand, and to enable Sales; and, partner with demand generation teams to define programs and tactics that drive pipeline and deliver high-quality leads to the Sales organization.
This role can be remote based in NYC, Boston or at HQ in McLean, VA.

Appian is actively seeking an Industry Marketer to help drive marketing strategy and execution for our Financial Services industry. This individual will partner with our Director of Financial Services Marketing and a team of Financial Services subject matter experts to define a compelling and differentiated story that answers the question "Why Appian, Why Now?" for Financial Services and its sub-verticals (Banking, Capital Markets, and Private Equity); create supporting content to help drive awareness and demand, and to enable Sales; and, partner with demand generation teams to define programs and tactics that drive pipeline and deliver high-quality leads to the Sales organization.

To be successful in this role, you need:
- An understanding of customer needs within the Financial Services market-especially Banking, Capital Markets, and Private Equity-including industry trends, the buying process, and industry-specific buyer & user personas
- A partnership approach with our Financial Services subject matter experts to create content that articulates the unique value Appian delivers throughout the buyer journey
- Passion and creativity to help define tactics for generating B2B awareness and demand campaigns resulting in high-quality leads for the Sales team
- Close collaboration with Demand Generation, Digital Marketing, Events, Field and Partner Marketing teams on the execution of programs with measurement and goals
- Experience supporting successful solution launch and sales enablement efforts by creating positioning/messaging documents, sales presentations, solution briefs, and other product collateral

Basic qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- 7-10 years of B2B marketing experience in high-tech / Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environments; prior Financial Services marketing software experience required, with a deep understanding of Capital Markets, Banking and Private Equity markets.
- A proven ability to produce creative, memorable and highly engaging content in support of inbound and outbound marketing activities, and sales enablement
- A proven track record of developing strategies and tactics to drive awareness and demand within specific target buyer segments or verticals
- Demonstrated ability to work across functions, be a team player and thrive in a highly collaborative and matrixed environment
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience with related technologies, including business process management (BPM), robotic process automation (RPA), artificial intelligence (AI), case management, CRM, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), enterprise mobile, a plus
