The Department of Geographical Sciences is seeking a Faculty Specialist/Senior Faculty Specialist* to serve as the Post-award Project Manager to support project management needs of multiple scientists in the Department. The Post-award Project Manager will work with individual Principal Investigators, Research Coordinators, and the Director of Administration to manage awarded projects following the requirements of various funding agencies. Tasks will include:

  • Tracking milestones of project implementation specific to the Funder’s requirements
  • Organizing, formatting and packaging project reports
  • Assisting project teams in compiling and formatting the necessary information to support project implementation.
  • Assisting in coordination of project implementation with multi-institutional partners
  • Supporting logistical needs of projects (e.g. assisting with field work logistics)
  • Helping organize project meetings, visitors & associated logistics

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree
  • Project management experience
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Successful candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple, sometimes competing priorities, and provide excellent outcomes within required time frames.
  • Proven analytical skills are required, proactive solution orientation is a must, as well as the ability to be responsive to the needs of PI’s and Research Faculty.

Preferred:

  • Experience with reporting requirements and electronic submissions for a range of funding agencies is preferred.
  • Experience with project management software and advanced excel skills including pivot tables.
  • Background understanding of Geospatial Analysis/Remote Sensing/Earth System Science
