Dewberry is seeking qualified design professionals to join its growing federal facilities design practice. Dewberry possesses an extensive portfolio in the federal market sector and is aligned across all its offices to continue to grow our market share. The federal facilities design practice is a designated growth initiative for the firm. Existing multi-year contracts and projected future contracts provide a continued solid foundation in this market and provide current and future opportunities for the right kind of individuals.

The firm is looking to add a Civil Engineer who is looking for an opportunity to grow and take on more responsibility. Our growing, federal facilities design practice seeks a client-focused, highly motivated, and organized engineer. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for the design of a wide variety of site/civil projects, with responsibilities that will include permitting, site layout and development, grading and erosion control, drainage, storm water management, utility design and construction document preparation. Knowledge of federal design criteria and proven ability regarding site development drawing production is required. This position's primary need is tied to opportunities and targeted clients throughout the greater Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area and their projects across the nation, with lead and support roles from other Dewberry offices. Some travel may be required for pursuing and performing the work that is secured. Preferred Dewberry office location and/or opportunities for working remotely are negotiable.

Responsibilities

  • Site/civil development including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, utility design and erosion and sediment control design.
  • Preparation of all associated calculations, reports, and spreadsheets .
  • Collaborating with design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.
  • Responsibilities also include conducting code research, preparing specifications, and pursuing permit approvals.
  • Team contributor assigned to federal IDIQ contract task orders as well as stand-alone federal design contracts for major projects.


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BS in Civil/Infrastructure Engineering or related field.
  • PE preferred; EIT is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and Microsoft Office is required.
  • 4 - 6 years of progressive design experience directly related to site/civil development projects, preferably for federal/public clients
  • Must possess or have an ability and willingness to diligently pursue a DoD Federal Clearance.
  • Works in a timely fashion to meet project budgets.
  • Communicates effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and review agency staff.
  • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized.
