National Journal is hiring a Manager, Benefits and Compliance. This job is a unique blend of strategy, administration, and compliance oversight. The National Journal Benefits Program that you will oversee includes: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, wellness, COBRA, leave administration, 401K, Deferred Compensation, and ACA compliance. This individual will report to the Vice President, Talent & Culture and will be a senior member of the talent and culture team serving as an internal leader to ensure cohesion across all functions of HR.

The Role
You will be the project manager for our company-wide wellness and open enrollment processes. Your work includes supporting the day-to-day administration such as: reconciling payroll deductions and invoices, handling escalated associate benefit matters, maintaining the benefits administration system, You will work directly with our benefits consultants to send vendor interfaces and maintain compliance with all relevant compliance regulations. You will also participate in benefit surveys, benchmark best practices, support the annual benefit renewal planning process, and manage a variety of outsourced vendor relationships.
You Have...
- Qualified candidates will have 2-5 years of progressive experience in benefit plan analysis and administration as 1+ year experience in benefit plan management
- This position requires working knowledge of current benefit regulations, outstanding customer service and communication skills, vendor and project management skills and extreme attention to detail
- A Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or a related field or equivalent experience is required.

Location: This job is based in Washington, DC. National Journal will be operating on a hybrid basis, with employees required to be in the office every Tuesday and Thursday. Optionality for long term remote work.
