The Scheduling and Event Coordinator will be one of two coordinators with responsibility to schedule and assist with logistical support of events that occur on campus. This position will have a focus on supporting student organized events with a direct impact on the student experience at Mason.Responsibilities:This position is responsible for scheduling major and minor student events, assist with logistics of event planning, provide guidance to clients on accessing resources, and provide information to the campus stakeholders and community on student organized activities.Scheduling:Responsible for scheduling events primarily organized by Registered Student Organizations; provide clients and support staff with room set up diagrams, and assist clients with logistical arrangements; provide information of how and where to acquire needed University services. Schedule and assist with departmental and annual major events as needed.25live Management:Responsible for activation of all student 25live accounts. Responsible for providing training to student users of 25live and training of student involvement staff.Liaison with Stakeholders:Responsible for working closely with the Office of Student Involvement on the process for student events. Works closely with Student Center Operations to provide set up information and diagrams; works closely with security, parking, catering, Event Services, etc., to ensure all events have proper arrangements. Represent events at weekly event logistics meeting.Customer Service:Provide the highest level of customer service to all audiences. Develop a positive connection with colleagues, supervisors, university administrators, students and internal and external customers. Represent Mason in a professional and collaborative manner. Ensure clients understand policies to result in a positive event experience.Event Coordination:Assist with major events including but not limited to, Commencement and University Holiday Party. Successfully oversee the production of events for various departments, units and in some cases, recognized student organizations across campus.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Public Relations, Communications or a related field; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with 25live or other event management scheduling programs;Knowledge of campus and event venues;Experience working in higher education.
