Job Summary:
Westat is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to support research in our Center for Transportation, Technology and Safety Research focus area. Researchers identify and address transportation and safety challenges through studies of vehicle occupant behavior, vehicle technology and safety, and travel behavior. Studies explore issues related to roadway users, occupant protection, vehicle automation and connectivity, travel patterns, and more.  

This is a full time position with a flexible hybrid work schedule. 

Job Responsibilities:
Support all stages of research study design, data collection and management, analysis, and report writing. 
•    Assist in all recruitment and hiring efforts, including:

o Screen and interview applicants.
o Conduct employment verifications.
o Assisting with the onboarding process, including preparing and verifying documents.
o Collaborate with company departments for hiring and payroll matters.
o Conduct data entry of applicant information into database.

•    Conduct reviews of research literature and synthesize information for the specified topic.
•    Prepare data for analysis, including video coding, quality control review, and conducting preliminary analysis.
•    Contribute to writing and preparation of reports and articles for publication/presentation.
•    Contribute to business development and writing proposals.

Basic Qualifications: 
•    A bachelor's degree in psychology, social sciences or a related field is required. 
•    Experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Access, PowerPoint.

Minimum Qualifications:
•    Possession of a driver's license and a driving record in good standing. 
•    Occasional work on weekends and evenings is required.
•    Occasional travel is required.
•    Detail-oriented, demonstrate strong written and oral communication, and possess effective time management and organizational skills.  
•    Capable of problem-solving, taking initiative, effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work well in a fast-paced team environment. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Experience in recruiting or hiring.
