Manager, Financial Analysis

Capital One is seeking a motivated professional for a Manager position in Commercial Banking Finance. The Commercial Bank includes Commercial Real Estate and Corporate Banking business segments, both regional across our banking footprint and on a national basis for specialized industry verticals. The Manager of Financial Planning & Analytics will manage a team responsible for several of the Horizontal functions across the Commercial Business. A successful candidate will demonstrate deep analytic capabilities, the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, and strong people management skills to motivate and drive the team agenda.

  • Strong judgment, professional maturity, and a results focused mindset; has the courage to ask tough questions and challenge the status quo
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to work dynamically in a matrixed environment; provide business leadership and partnering skills to help drive the organization towards critical decisions and deliverable results


Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the components of the Commercial Banking P&L to help drive insights and analytics on the financial performance and trajectory of the business
  • Effectively and efficiently lead core finance functions, which include reporting, annual budget setting, near-term target management, and long term strategic planning
  • Communicate key financial developments and trajectory to senior leadership, focusing on key resource planning and other expense drivers
  • Provide impactful strategic and analytical guidance by connecting growth initiatives to financial implications and trade offs
  • Drive innovation and process improvements
  • Include, empower, and inspire as a people leader
  • Manage and develop 1-2 analysts; coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent
  • Deliver accurate, meaningful, and efficient financial forecasts and management reporting to help our partners deliver on their financial objectives

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of analytical or experience in financial analysis
  • At least 1 year of people management experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master's Degree in Finance
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Google Workplace
  • At least 6 years of analytical or experience in financial analysis
  • Experience with OneStream and/or Hyperion Essbase
