Senior Manager, Security Strategist

We are seeking a Sr. Manager, Security Strategist to join our Enterprise Safety and Security (ESS) Team. The Senior Security Strategist supports the Enterprise Safety & Security (ESS) team in its overall mission in providing a safe and secure environment for Capital One teammates and customers. The role requires someone being a business minded security storyteller. That is a strategist, focused on tracking the progress of strategic objectives, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of internal processes, enhancing service levels and providing analytical business insights across a robust, fast-paced environment in order to protect our people and facilities.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, influencing and storytelling skills. The role requires someone with advanced project/change management skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all members of their team and across key stakeholder groups to ensure collaborative success. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of proven success in a customer/stakeholder facing role to include project/change management, communications/marketing, corporate strategy, business analytics or other related roles.

The Senior Security Strategist supports the Security Operations and Solutions (SOS) Director and has the following responsibilities which are included but not limited to:

Responsibilities:
  • Develops executive ready reporting and communications on program strategy and engagement
  • Support SOS business management, strategic planning, communications, change management and operational excellence.
  • Drives and tracks program strategies and objectives within SOS; uses data to provide insights to SOS leaders to strengthen programmatic objectives
  • Identifies and delivers improvement activity across SOS through the implementation of process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking
  • Establishes processes to capture, address and prioritize SOS product feedback
  • Creates and maintains communication templates for reactive SOS team messaging
  • Regularly reviews industry trends to identify areas of opportunity and holds innovation sessions to strengthen creativity and enhance processes
  • Analyzes strategic objectives using business analytical methods and assessments to develop or enhance strategic roadmap/direction
  • Develops and performs/tests quality assurance/control processes across the SOS Team and works closely with ESS controls in the identification of risk
  • Work closely with ESS communications and solutions teams to ensure alignment to brand standards and business tone
  • Work closely with WPS data analytics team to develop/enhance dashboards, metrics and other performance/risk indicators
  • Supports employee engagement efforts across the SOS team and works closely with ESS/WPS DIB office
  • Participate in and execute other special projects for the team on an as needed basis


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 4 years of people management experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 7 years of people management experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in Agile practices
  • At least 3 years of experience in leadership consulting and strategy development
  • Strong organizational, project management and analytical skills
  • Experience supporting events or campaigns
  • Experience following brand and style guidelines
  • Proficiency in Google Suite
  • Experience with physical security issues and incident management
