The Security System Consultant supports the Enterprise Safety & Security (ESS) team in its overall mission in providing a safe and secure environment for Capital One teammates and customers. The role requires someone with advanced technical knowledge and the ability to provide outstanding levels of customer service in a fast moving, dynamic and flexible environment.

The ideal candidate will have proven success in a security technology or related role. A technical understanding of hardware, software, development and production support methodologies, as well as project management experience is desired. While primary duty hours are day shift, candidates must be flexible to work in the event of emergencies or other operational needs.

Under the general supervision of ESS Technology Leadership, the Security System Consultant will work as part of a team and have the following responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Interact closely with ESS Operations, Project Managers, Integrators, and Shared Tech to understand needs and develop requirements in order to implement and support technology
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues by determining root cause to remediate application issues and develop proactive measures to prevent future occurrences
  • Centrally document, track, and monitor application issues
  • Serve as a point of escalation, guidance, training, and mentoring to ESS Operations and partners
  • Stay up-to-date with application best practices, and relevant certifications where appropriate to drive maximum performance and value
  • Centrally document system designs, configurations, and troubleshooting guidance by writing and diagraming relevant information and creating FAQ's for supporting common issues
  • Communicate updates and issues in a direct and timely manner via all communication modalities and in accordance with all applicable SLA/SLOs
  • Assist ESS and partners with requested IT tasks and consulting
  • Maintain a general understanding of security industry technology trends and a thorough understanding of all company products and services and technologies
  • Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure collaborative success and keep abreast of new and improving technologies and solutions
  • Provide well-written reports and verbal brief outs on projects, initiatives and or other technology updates as assigned

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification
  • At least 3 years of experience in security technology environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in a security technology environment
  • At least 2 years of experience with Lenel and Genetec
  • At least 2 years of experience in Agile Project Management
  • At least 2 years of tactical or managerial experience with Physical Security systems
  • At least 1 year of experience developing training requirements; key performance indices; and drafting standard operating procedures
