Database Report Writer

We are in search of a Database Report Writer who provides and / or coordinates the development, administration, and execution of reports on / from the Carlos Rosario Business Intelligence Database (CRBI). The Database Report Writer gathers and documents stakeholder(s) requirements and requests; maintains report listings on the CRBI User Portal. This individual manages users of ad-hoc reports for other users as requested; Conducts training as appropriate to users on relevant components of the CRBI system.

Responsibilities:

• Administrates the setup and validates on-going integrity of the internal system data, and integrity with the school’s production and reported data

• Schedules and perform report result and data audits

• Documents, communicate and maintain the enterprise data base dictionary

• Provides training and support assistance to CR staff in academics, assessment, accountability, accreditation, registration, communications and executive team as needed

• Adheres to Data Process Standards and Policies

• Maintains data consistency across all data systems and interfaces

• Supports reporting data creation and use of data systems, to include, Reporting Services data set maintenance

• Creates or facilitate creation of complex custom reports as requested

• Manages the Data Import (FROM) or Export (TO) external parties or systems as directed

• Maintains a calendar of ALL data reporting deadlines, periods, and audits for both internal and external recipients 

• Elicits user feedback and requirements using interviews, document analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, tasks and workflow analysis

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience and certification with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 preferred

• Associate ‘s degree in Computer Science or related field or comparable work experience required

• A minimum of two years of experience with Microsoft SQL Report Writer

• A minimum of two years of experience with Tableau Analytics Platform

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and engage in independent problem solving

• Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish established goals

• Able to train users in complex topics, make presentations to an internal audience and interact positively with upper management

• Strong understanding of data structures, theories, principles, and practices

• Knowledge of MS SQL databases, including queries and development

• Understanding of data gathering, warehousing, data analysis, data quality, data standards, data models/ schemas, relational databases, reporting, requirements management, process management and project management

• Must be able to provide proof of completed Covid-19 vaccination
