Principal Associate: Customer Management Strategy and Digital Marketing

The Consumer Card Marketing Team is looking for an innovative, passionate, and data-driven candidate to fill a high-profile position within the Card Marketing organization to drive strategic program development, creative strategy, marketing campaigns, and learning agendas across multiple channels for our Flagship & Premium customers. The role will allow you to flex muscles in emerging product strategy, new and innovative marketing technologies, and traditional direct response marketing. Successful candidates will have experience leveraging data to develop sound marketing strategies, working across multiple marketing channels, building powerful relationships, storytelling for business impact, and a passion for utilizing marketing technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define market research and customer intelligence projects with internal teams and external vendors to harvest insights and inform campaigns.
  • Analyze business results, marketplace trends and consumer insights to inform/advance positioning, product strategy, claims, branding and marketing strategy.
  • Develop and execute integrated, multi-channel (primarily owned channels), marketing campaigns on a national scale to drive account growth and brand affinity.
  • Brief marketing/creative teams, manage the various projects required, communicate with stakeholders, and infuse marketing best practices, new marketing technology, and testing into the work to constantly improve and create best marketing practices for the organization.
  • Participate as the marketing lead in collaborative cross-functional teams (business partners, creative teams, legal, compliance, etc.)
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met


The Ideal Candidate
  • Strong B2C Marketing Experience : Has experience leading marketing and product strategy efforts in large organizations, along with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Is able to craft a thoughtful, customer-backed marketing strategy in white space, as well as break a strategy down into a testing plan that accelerates momentum and speed to market. Has deep experience with a variety of marketing channels, primarily owned (e.g.: email, mobile app, digital channels, website, and/or tech platform marketing)
  • Data-driven : Is confident in data analysis, able to structure analytical requests, adeptly combines analytics and qualitative data to form a marketing strategy and approach
  • Self-starter : Can lead projects independently and has a desire to build new skills. Can manage the details of multiple projects, deadlines and changing priorities, while maintaining excellent and accurate work; detailed-oriented with strong project management and prioritization skills
  • Highly effective communicator : Has outstanding writing and presentation abilities; strong storyteller
  • Thrives on collaboration : Strong cross-functional partner, is comfortable operating in both white space and structured marketing strategies


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Military experience
  • At least 5 years in brand strategy, product or digital marketing with experience in managing multiple channels on agency or client-side
  • At least 5 years of experience in planning, executing and analyzing marketing programs
  • At least 5 years of experience managing creative processes, partnering with creative teams and developing creative optimization frameworks


Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Marketing, Business or Communications
  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing for financial services or another highly regulated industry
  • At least 5 years of experience driving optimization plans and creative strategy
  • At least 5 years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment with a track record of effectively working autonomously and navigating ambiguity
