Venturi, LLC, a, Chenega company, has a challenging career opportunity for a DevSecOps Lead Engineer who will play an important role supporting Missile Defense Agency on the TEAMS Next Missile Defense Systems Engineering contract. This individual will support the Ground-Based Defense program within the Missile Defense Agency. The ideal candidate will be an energetic person who will drive how the organization deploys, verifies, and monitors applications and services. The candidate will interact with all stakeholders to define DevSecOps processes and shape the development culture. This role also assists in the ongoing improvement of CI/CD environment provisioning and development workflows.

  • Analyze technologies currently used within the organization and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them
  • Establish milestones for necessary contributions from departments and develop processes to facilitate their collaboration
  • Assist other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team
  • Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including materials, manpower and time necessary
  • Provide clear goals for all areas of a project and develop steps to oversee their timely execution
  • Work closely with engineering professionals within the company to maintain hardware and software needed for projects to be completed efficiently
  • Mentor and train other engineers throughout the company and seek to improve processes companywide
  • Work alongside project management teams to monitor progress and implementation of initiatives


Required Skills:
  • Master of Science or Master of Arts degree with 12+ years of experience required; will consider a BA/BS with 20+ years of related experience in lieu of master's degree
  • Experience developing engineering applications for a large organization
  • Demonstrated project development and leadership skills
  • Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
  • Experience with software engineering, customer experience and, government customer software engineering preferred
  • Experience working together with teams from several departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan
  • Professional experience and a high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications
  • Professional work experience in team building and project organization
  • Experience with automation including implementation, design, and proselytization across the customer base
  • Issue tracking system organization and coordination with other tools, including continuous integration, code quality, and source control management
  • Experience with artifact repositories, including configuration, installation, and maintenance. This should also include helping teams understand how to publish artifacts to the repository as well as support versioning schemes
  • Experience with multiple operating systems, RHEL, and Windows
  • Experience with performing a DevSecOps role within the defense contracting industry
  • Active secret clearance

Desired Skills:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering OR
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
  • Prior experience with software development languages, including C++, Python, BASH, or other scripting languages
  • Prior experience with artifact management software, including Gitlab, Artifactory, or simliar
