Job Description

The Washington Post is seeking an email marketing expert to join our Lifecycle Marketing team and support our global email lead/nurture and acquisition efforts. This role can be based in our New York City or Washington DC office. This role will report to the Group Manager of Lifecycle Marketing, Acquisition and manage projects to nurture and convert leads into paying subscribers. Your focus will include email and other owned channels including push notifications. This role will support the Post's mission in delivering trustworthy journalism to our registered user base.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute automated lifecycle marketing journeys and one-off campaigns across email to drive new subscribers.
  • Segment our audience so we can develop tailored programs to get them to read more frequently and ultimately convert to a paying subscriber.
  • Continuously conduct A/B tests and develop insights that improve acquisition conversion rate.
  • Project manage cross functional initiatives with executive stakeholders in subscriptions, marketing, and the newsroom to ensure projects are executed on time and in line with the team goals
  • Manage day-to-day tasks such as calendar management and reporting and analysis to ensure campaigns are organized and decisions are backed by data.
  • Schedule and conduct quality analysis of ad hoc email campaigns to deliver email starts and to ensure everything is correct before deployment.
  • Deliver regular analysis on our competitors as well as new trends in email marketing to help The Post stay ahead of industry changes and advances.


Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience working in lifecycle marketing with demonstrated background in email.
  • Strong understanding of customer segments and journey through the conversion funnel.
  • Proven analytical skills and a knack for using data to make decisions.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: MBA
  • Presentation skills (desired)
