The Washington Post Creative Group is the award-winning in-house branded content studio of The Washington Post. Washington Post is looking for a video producer (contract) to join WP Creative Group, our in-house branded content studio. The video producer will work across the production process of branded video, with a focus on researching, pitching, writing, and casting high-quality, multimedia content optimized for our site as well as social channels.

Responsibilities
  • Own all aspects of pre-production planning, to assisting on-set at productions and stewarding video assets through to post-production and launch in collaboration with the Production team and the internal teams of the Creative Group
  • Execute branded content programs that address our partner's business goals while remaining authentic to the Washington Post brand
  • Develop, pitch, and write up video concepts, loose scripts or storyboards, and pre-production treatments
  • Edit projects such as documentary stories, TikToks and social media content
  • Research key background subject matter, conduct casting pre-interviews, and provide talent one-sheets
  • Assist in onboarding and briefing production partners on production objectives and story beats
  • Coordinate travel and/or any production-related logistics, including choosing production partners, location booking, call sheets, and talent releases
  • Review and weigh in on rough cuts, helping to ensure that final video productions are aligned with brand and WPCG strategy, and best-in-class storytelling
  • Steward all assets through the post-production process, with attention to staying on deadline and within scope, and coordinating delivery to program managers and/or social media managers
  • Provide expert project-management oversight, update schedules and process invoices


Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience working in video production or marketing content development
  • Proven experience managing high-profile accounts who can manage multiple lines of feedback and distill them into a clear creative vision
  • Experience editing and deep knowledge in Premiere Pro, After Effects a plus
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills-ability to perform in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, and think quickly and strategically to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong research and writing background, as well as experience with building narratives through visual storytelling
  • Best-in-class communication skills when developing and producing projects
  • Ability to see multiple projects as a whole and ensure that all parts are moving well
  • Self-motivation and ability to proactively find solutions and/or provide ways to further enhance video productions
  • Ability to manage and meet deadlines
