Candidate should possess skills and talents to operate hand, pneumatic, welding and power tools. Candidate should possess the ability to interpret scenic design drawings and to determine materials and processes necessary to carry out these designs. Candidate should have theatre experience including, but not limited to carpentry and props. Candidate will work extensively with students. People skills and time management are vital, equipment maintenance abilities are preferred. Bachelor's degree in Technical Theater preferred.Position entails heavy lifting, working at heights, and exposure to noises generated by power tools.Night and weekend hours will occasionally be required. Normal schedule will average 35-40 hours per week. This is a 9 month wage (hourly) position (August to early May, exact dates flexible). Starting pay rate is $22/hr. (negotiable).
