The Operations Finance Analyst is an integral part of a talented, global team working in a fast-paced environment, responsible for the financial delivery of a portfolio of clinical studies. This requires you to solve problems creatively, liaise with subject matter experts, manage revenue recognition and forecasting, oversee invoicing, and lead ad hoc analyses. The Operations Finance Analyst contributes to the achievement of financial and business objectives through accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting.

Primary Purpose
The Operations Finance Analyst is an integral part of a talented, global team working in a fast-paced environment, responsible for the financial delivery of a portfolio of clinical studies. The Operations Finance Analyst contributes to the achievement of financial and business objectives through accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities
May perform one or more of the following dependent on job level:
- Recognizes revenue in accordance with ASC-606 guidelines, prepares accurate project budgets and partners with Operations to generate forecasts for the life of the study, and performs project cost analysis for contracts, within their portfolio, inclusive of variances between supported and actual hours/costs, bid to current GP, and deviations from contracted scope.
- Identify, manage, and deliver contract modifications to clients inclusive of pricing and justification of the additional scope.
- Responsible on a project level for all aspects of project financial responsibilities including but not limited to project setup, reviewing budgets, receivables and open commitments, monthly closing information, risk analysis, analytical support, and project cost variances.
- Identification and communication of any risks such as cost overruns, under spending, vacancy issues etc. to the project leads
- Preparation of payment schedules for contracts/contract modifications, inclusive of cashflow analysis and adherence to standard thresholds.
- Responsible for generation of monthly invoicing to the client inclusive of any supporting documentation as required. Serves as the client's point of contact to resolve any queries raised regarding invoicing.
- Prepares client reporting to send monthly/quarterly inclusive of work performed to date, forecasts for the life of the study for direct costs, PT costs, and site payments. Leads financial review calls with the client to discuss reporting, AR, contracts/modifications, and any current risks. (Cadence to be determined by client)
- Prepares presentation of financial status and performance as regular updates for operations meetings, for project management on at least monthly basis, and for Research Unit reviews on a quarterly basis
- Performs subcontractor and purchase order management activities including preparing purchase requisitions, processing of invoices, and preparation of accruals for projects.
- Responsible for all aspects of planning, processing, submitting, and reconciling of clinical site payments as needed per project. Forecasting of site payments based on enrollment/treatment projections.
- Project risk analysis, escalation, and mitigation strategy.
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
- BA/BS (Business, Accounting or Finance degree preferred), typically has 2 years' experience in budgeting, finance and/or Commercial contracts management.
- Experience with various types of contracts, subcontracts, or grants to include Cost Reimbursable contracts, Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and Time and Material (T&M) contracts.
- Experience working with or for a Contract Research Organization (CRO) a plus, especially within some clinical trials and/or pharmaceuticals setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work comfortably with budgets and multiple company departments.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong computer skills including high proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and data analysis software packages. Familiarity with Microsoft Access and Project.
