The DevOps Engineer, Senior is responsible for working with development and testing teams to continuously move features and functions through the product life cycle, from planning, building, testing, and deployment to support. The DevOps Engineer, Senior works across multiple platforms and environments, including AWS to ensure continuous smooth integration of new features without interruptions to current customers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct application and infrastructure planning, testing, and development.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement automation tools.
- Develop, build, install, configure, and maintain IT solutions.
- Communicate operational requirements and development forecasts.
- Test code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline and minimize errors.
- Use configuration management software to automatically deploy updates and fixes into the production environment.
- Perform routine application maintenance to ensure the production environment runs smoothly.
- Develop maintenance requirements and procedures.
- Recommend performance enhancements by performing gap analysis, identifying alternative solutions, and assisting with modifications.
- Understand customer requirements.
- Manage stakeholders and external interfaces.
- Set up tools and required infrastructure.
- Define and set development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation.
- Troubleshoot techniques and fix the code bugs.
- Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible.
- Identify and deploy cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management.
- Perform incidence management and root cause analysis.
- Coordinate and communicate with the team and customers.
- Mentor and guide the team members.
- Manage periodic reporting on the progress to the management and customer.
- Perform code deployments.
- Work alongside the testing team to find bugs and confirm bug resolution.
- Perform on-site support, being the catalyst between the Dev Team and Enterprise teams to enhance our system performance and alert Dev teams of any upcoming enterprise wide requirements.
- Work with XACTA 360 to ensure our SPIDs are compliant and ready for assessments/potential audits.
- Conduct application and infrastructure planning, testing, and development.

Qualifications
- Master's degree OR
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent and 2+ years related experience OR
- Associate degree and 4+ years' experience OR
- High school diploma or GED and 6+ years' experience in a relevant field
- Experience with Linux administration operating systems
- Experience with AWS
- Active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Linux, Linux, Java, Python, AWS, Gitlab CI, Docker, and TAS
- Ability to develop and use more complex concepts and processes
- Ability to direct and guide multiple personnel/contractors through entire project life cycle
- Ability to conduct root cause problem analysis and performs multiple tasks at specialist level
- May be recognized as a SME
- Ability to guide and support Journeyman level personnel
- Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
- Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
- Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it
