Venturi, LLC, a Chenega company, has a challenging and interesting career opportunity for a Radar Power Equipment Engineer who will perform important work supporting Missile Defense Agency on the TEAMS Next Missile Defense Systems Engineering contract. This individual must have strong critical thinking and problem solving skills and be capable of interacting verbally and in writing with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Subject Matter Experts (SME) and prime contractor employees.
Responsibilities
- Provide Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) and site infrastructure power equipment/switching subject matter expertise for a ground based, Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) radar
- Support requirements development and traceability, system/subsystem design, schematic development and reviews, performance assessments, power studies and analysis, test, evaluation, and verification
- Support engineering IPTs, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), working groups, and design reviews to ensure system/subsystem designs meets power requirements
- Conduct power trade studies targeted at reducing cost while maintaining performance
- Support Material Review Boards (MRB), Failure Review Board (FRB) decisions, Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) Reports and Closure Statements, and Failure Investigation Reports (FIR)
- Interact with a multi-disciplinary product development team to support design, system integration, and fielding
- Develop and present technical briefings and reports to senior leadership
- Travel to prime contractor facility and fielded site location to support hardware manufacturing, site integration, and test
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Master's degree (STEM) and 12+ years working on defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project
- Experience in development of power solutions
- Experience in power distribution system design and implementation
- Knowledge of electrical engineering analyses, like power loading, power quality analysis, thermal output, and authoring reports documenting them
- Experience with problem-solving skills to rapidly address issues identified during production and installation
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with developers and engineering teams
- Ability presenting complex information and concepts to leaders at various levels
- Proficient with Microsoft Office® applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Secret security clearance
