Our client in the public law school industry is seeking a Legal Assistant to assist administrative support to their department. The Legal Assistant will provide administrative support to the students, faculty, and Managing Attorney in the Clinical Program. If this sounds like you we are looking for someone with experience in legal, government, or non-profit setting.

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates must be able to:
  • Work directly with the Managing Attorney to maintain processes of the Clinical Program
  • Provide secretarial support to students and clinical faculty as needed, including but not limited to: typing, filling in forms, and mailing documents
  • Process various documents for clinical students (email reminders, upload to Sharepoint, track progress)
  • Answer calls and make appropriate referrals for legal assistance to service seekers
  • Enter and maintain data in case management system FileVine
  • Provide and/or arrange for oral interpretation and written translation services (English-Spanish)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate desirable
  • Two (2) years of related office experience in a legal, government, or non-profit setting; paralegal experience highly desirable
  • Prior experience working with or a commitment to serving, low-income communities
  • Proficient oral and written Bi-lingual Spanish desirable
  • Software skills including MS-Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Reader, Outlook, ShareDrive
  • Ability to work well under pressure with a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail with excellent proofreading and editing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment and initiative, especially in working with confidential legal matters
