As the Wish of a Lifetime from AARP Development Specialist, you will participate in the management of fundraising activities that align with the organization's goals and objectives. You will serve as primary point of contact and assist in implementing and coordinating an organization-wide strategy using a comprehensive donor relations and stewardship system. You will appropriately and consistently promote interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels (e.g. individuals, corporations, and foundations). You will perform work associated with fundraising campaigns to meet Wish of a Lifetime's mission. You will be joining a passionate team committed to fulfilling seniors' dreams and sharing their stories to inspire those of all ages.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support in the process of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and/or stewardship of the donors and prospective donors assigned within their respective donor/prospect pool or fundraising channel.
  • Performs functions and processes that support the fundraising process (e.g., identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, systems/processing, stewardship) within their respective donor/prospect pool or function.
  • Utilizes appropriate resources and processes to help ensure personal and departmental success in meeting departmental and personal objectives and goals.
  • Performs processes and functions that support fundraising goals and expectations as needed.
  • Performs duties in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and board policies (e.g., gift acceptance) pertaining to gifts, contributions, grants and other charitable support raised.
  • Adheres to ethical standards established by Association of Fundraising Professionals and National Association of Charitable Gift Planners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum three years prior fundraising or donor management experience
  • Experience in CRM database management such as Blackbaud, Salesforce or similar
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis preferred
  • Ability to work in a collaborative matrixed environment
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office systems including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
